MARK MAHONEY
Mark has extensive experience as both vibist and drummer. While living in Northern New Hampshire, Mark played professionally in several bands. He drummed for a wide variety of groups including a Caribbean Steel band, local rock band, a jazz trio and also played many off Broadway musicals.
His background includes degrees from the University of Miami: Bachelor of Music Education and the University of Tennessee: Master of Music in Jazz Studies. During his professional career Mark has performed with jazz combos, big bands, Latin Bands, steel bands and even a 14 piece trombone ensemble. In addition to performing Mark has worked as a music teacher and band director for many years. In addition to his work with the Duo, Mark currently performs throughout Connecticut with the Sonny Caroll Big Band, on drum set.

JAMES WALKER
James has performed in a variety of musical styles, ranging from jazz vibraphone, to steel pan, to orchestral and Broadway-style pit orchestras. He currently leads the James Walker Group (jazz vibraphone), East Shore Caribbean Jazz (steel pan), and is a founding member of the Vokes-Walker Duo (voice and marimba). James also authored the "Expressive Jazz Techniques" column for Jazz Player Magazine from 1999 through 2001, and he has also written articles for Percussive Notes, the official magazine of the Percussive Arts Society.
James released his first jazz CD as a leader, "Rhyme or Reason," in November of 2000. He is currently preparing materials for new recordings by the James Walker Group and the Vokes/Walker Duo.
