JAMES WALKER is a percussionist living in Connecticut (USA). As a performer, he works in a wide variety of musical genres, playing a broad range of percussion instruments, in projects including jazz vibraphone, steel pan (steel drums), drum set, and orchestral percussion. James currently teaches at Keene State College in New Hampshire, and also at the Music Learning Center in Danbury, CT. He has written articles for Percussive Notes (the official publication of the Percussive Arts Society), authored the “Expressive Jazz Techniques” column for Jazz Player Magazine, and has presented clinics at numerous colleges, universities, and Percussive Arts Society chapters’ “Day of Percussion” events. |
